Being at Heller High was the most positive, rewarding and loving experiences my teen has ever had. Never has he had teachers that took the time to teach - who actually care about how children are actually learning. When I was talking to him the other day he corrected me when I said he was doing well in his classes, He said "No mom, I wasn't just doing well, I was thriving." - Parent of Spring 2020 Student
For over 60 years, URJ Heller High has helped North American High School students take the next steps on their Jewish journey, explore the real Israel, and strengthen current or discover new academic interests.
Like many Israel programs, we had to end our in-person semester in mid-March. Rather than canceling the remainder of the semester, we immediately pivoted to online, real-time, virtual learning. What we learned was that our small classes, the supportive relationship our faculty members build with students, and our commitment to Jewish values successfully translated to the virtual space. As one parent shared with us:
“As a former high school teacher myself, I have seen all the signs that your educators truly love their craft and engage their students.”
After evaluating the spring semester experience, I am excited to announce that:
Registration is now open for entering 10th, 11th, and 12th graders for
the Fall 2020 semester of URJ Heller High Online!
The URJ Heller High Online school experience includes:
- Fully interactive, synchronous small group courses taught by our experienced faculty
- Regular, Honors and AP courses
- Social/community building experiences
- College counseling and support
- Friends and Jewish community
- Jewish/Israel studies courses as part of the program
During the fall semester, general studies classes will take place from Monday through Thursday. Jewish/Israel studies, included in the price of tuition, will take place twice a week, Sunday and Tuesday afternoons, with our dynamic Jewish history faculty. Hebrew language courses are available separately through our partners at Gratz Academy/College.
Space is limited and enrollment will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
I hope you will join us for an outstanding educational experience at URJ Heller High Online for the Fall 2020 semester!
