From Texas to Tzuba: Visiting EIE

As we did a couple of years ago, Liz (my wife) and I stayed at Kibbutz Tzuba (during a visit to Israel). Tzuba is just west of Jerusalem and provides a good base for seeing both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. The other bonus for us is that Tzuba is the home of the NFTY-EIE High School in Israel program. Two years ago, we visited the program and I was lucky enough to join them on one of their tiyuls (field trips). The students were learning about the time of the Bar Kochba revolt and, on this tiyul, visited the amphitheater at Beit Guvrin and then crawled through the caves at Midras. Yes, I crawled with them! It was loads of fun. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to join them on an adventure this time, but I did have a wonderful visit with Baruch Kraus, the Principal of the program, and met Ty Webb, one of the students on the program who has been a camper at Greene Family Camp (pictured above).
